Siliguri Metropolitan Police, acting on a tip-off from Indian Air Force officials, swiftly apprehended a man masquerading as a squadron leader of the Indian Air Force in the city center. The suspect, identified as Subrata Roy, a resident of Raiganj, was found wearing a fake Air Force uniform, sparking suspicion among authorities.
According to sources from Matigara police station, the arrest transpired when two genuine Air Force personnel noticed Roy's attire and alerted local law enforcement.
Responding promptly, officers from Matigara police station detained Roy, who now faces charges related to impersonating a military officer and falsely representing the Indian Air Force.
